The Races of Tyria: The Norn

Hailing all the way from the Far Shiverpeaks we have the Norn. The race first appeared in the Guild Wars: Eye Of The
Norn expansion pack. In the year 1165 A.E these tall brutes have had their previous homes in the nothern Far Shiverpeaks destroyed by the Elder Dragon Jormag, After they fled to the southern parts of the Shiverpeaks they started work on a series of lodge that they would call their new home. These lodges combined are known as Hoelbrak.

The Norn have a strong belief in the Spirits of the Wild with their 4 most commonly worshipped spirits being; Bear, Raven, Snow Leopard and Wolf. Bear is seen as the strongest of all the Spirits of the Wild because of the belief that Bear granted Norn the ability of transformation into a Bear. The other Spirits are worshipped due to their assistance when the Norn fled south. There are alot more Spirits that the Norn worship although they aren't as actively revered. The Norn revere totems of all the Spirits of the Wild. Norn also have the ability to transform themselves into the shape of one of these Spirits of the Wild.

Mostly, Norn follow a Northern European or Viking-style. Although there are some Norn that have Dutch or Frisian names. Norn without any notable accomplishments or achievements have surnames after one of their parents, Most commonly the most famous parent. Although surnames can be changed by the individual to fit their own accomplishment or "Legend". (Phew! Needed wikis help with that one!).
