Whatcha Lookin' at? HUH? |
Drinking eggnog and smashing people’s faces in on WvW or PvP
is on the schedule this Wintersday because ArenaNet shook things up a little!
With the Wintersday patch released and people farming dem
Wintersday Gifts, PvPers and WvWers also have some news too! From the December 16th
all the way through to January 13th, the World vs World: Sneak
Attack is now in full swing. If you don’t
know what that is you better ask somebody! ArenaNet is changing the rules of
WvW for 1 month. For every player killed in WvW, you’re server will gain a
point towards its score. For every finisher used when you world have the
Bloodlust buff on them, you gain another point toward your worlds score and
last but definitely not least, ArenaNet is removing the ability that alerts
players of an objective that is being captured (the white swords that appear
over previously mentioned objectiv
e). Although i don’t WvW as much as i would
like to i think this is a great idea because it encourages more zerg vs zerg
fights, improves the usefulness of scouts drastically and will aid in people
working together to score the win for their server. And as an added bonus,
everyone will be given a buff called the “Mist War Summons” which gives all
players +15% World Experience, +50% Magic Find while in World Vs World and +15%
more experience on kills in World Vs World. Who can say no to more magic find?
Second up is that the changes to the PvP leaderboard and
matchmaking system that ArenaNet has officially implemented. Also set between December
16th and January 13th, ArenaNet are launching a PvP
Leaderboard Test Season in which they are going to test the effectiveness of
their new systems. If you want to participate all you have to do is jump onto
Ranked Arena match and fight your heart out to compete for top spots. Of
course, what would PvP Season be without rewards? The Top 250 players each will
receive a Mini Llama, the Top 20 will receive 1 piece of Glorious Hero’s armor
and the Top 5 players will receive 2 pieces of the Glorious Hero’s armor.
Glorious Hero’s armor was the exclusive armor set that was rewarded at the end
of the Tournament of Glory for those who placed 1st, 2nd
and 3rd. I will definitely be making my way into this since i’m a
big PvP fan in Guild Wars 2 although i do think it would have been nice if they
had changed the rewards a little bit for this new season but i’ll be satisfied
just even getting a Mini Llama! :P
All of this plus the other Wintersday content is sure to
tide you over until the finale of Living World Season 2 . I have a legendary to
work on and a Mini Llama to win so i know what i’ll be doing, Thanks for
reading and see you guys in- game!
