The Living Story

I wanted to write about this in my Guild Wars 2: Summary Edition piece but i thought that it deserves a whole page dedicated to just this. What am i talking about? I’m talking about the Living Story!.

The Living Story is a series of bi-weekly story focused content that ArenaNet has been releasing shortly after launch.  The Living Story is split into seasons, and has only had 2 seasons this far. the season 2 finale being released on January 13^th 2015. I’ll be here to tell you a little bit about the Living Story and it’s development.

Originally the Living Story was actually being released on a monthly bases but ArenaNet decided to that it would be better if the Living Story were to be delivered bi-weekly. I see season 1 of the Living Story as a bit of an experimental phase for ArenaNet but it was an awesome season nonetheless. In season 2, ArenaNet implemented a system that allows you to replay the episodes of the Living Story for free as long as you have logged in within 2 weeks of the patch releasing or alternatively, if you haven’t logged into the game within the 2 week period, You have an option to buy each episode for 200 gems each (8 episodes throughout Season 2,  200 x 8 = 1800 gems for the entire season 2). Unlike the system that ArenaNet has with season 2 of the Living Story, season 1 of the Living Story isn’t replay able which in my opinion is a damn shame. But ArenaNet has stated that they are going to try to make it into the replay able form that season 2 is now, so I’m going to be hoping that they can pull it off.

Living Story Season 1: The Story.

Season 1 has us meet and eventually group up with Braham, Rox, Kasmeer, Majory and Taimi. It has us shutting down malfunctioning security robots,  unveiling towers hidden in plain sight, breaking into and destroying previously mentioned towers, battling a giant Marionette thingy, saving citizens from a burning city and ultimately killing a super villain. In doing so, we forget to turn off the thingy that WOKE UP AN ELDER DRAGON. Just a few of our adventures during season 1, But instead of me putting it into words, ArenaNet released a video of what has happened during season 1 as we were just about to start off season 2.
